General

In the 1960s, the Les Paul seemed to be on its way out, so Gibson introduced a new Les Paul model which was shortly after dubbed the SG. This popular guitar was quickly joined by a bass version, the Gibson EB-0, that was played by the likes of Bill Wyman (The Rolling Stones), Jack Bruce (Cream) and John Entwistle (The Who). For those who want to have the same experience but don't have the budget to afford an original, Epiphone offers a take on the original EB. This SG-shaped bass boasts a vintage feel and sound at an affordable price. The body is nice and compact and offers high playing comfort.

The SG Bass: A True SG

The powerful sounds of this bass are a result of the mahogany body and neck while the rosewood fretboard adds a bit of warmth to the sound. The neck pickup is a Sidewinder humbucker which, due to its close proximity to the neck, gives the sound a woolly, full character. To counter this, there's an NYT Bass mini humbucker at the bridge position that is responsible for producing a clear, defined tone. Wrote the following about Epiphone SG Bass Ebony Electric Bass Guitar

Goeie gitaar ,de hals is aan de body gelijmd. De pickups zijn van goeie kwaliteit en de bedrading en potmeters ook. De brug is heel degelijk en makkelijk te stellen, alleen zou deze beter in .de body gelijmd moeten zijn . Nu moest ik het zelf doen . Als je een riem gebruikt hangt deze beter aan de boven hoorn inde binnenkant bevestigt .Het geluid is anders ,maar goed hoorbaar, perfect voor mij, want ik gebruik hem in de woonkamer. Een P bas klinkt dan weer te vol.
