General

The Takamine GD93-NAT is the perfect instrument if you're looking for a high-quality acoustic guitar at an affordable price. This western guitar from the 2013 G90 series is the most luxurious version of the series and sets itself apart by means of a very beautiful three-piece back, among other things. Furthermore, the GD93 features a solid spruce top and elegant maple bindings along the body, neck and headstock. Everything is beautifully finished with a transparent high-gloss lacquer.
Takamine GD93: luxury dreadnought
Except for the jumbo, the dreadnought is the largest size steel-string acoustic guitar, and as a result the GD93-NAT produces a very full and open sound. It owes its deep lows, rich mids and sparkly trebles to its solid spruce top and beautifully grained rosewood sides and back. The back is also decorated with a wedge-shaped middle piece made of quilted maple, in between two flamed maple strips.
Hardware and details
The rosewood fretboard, with 20 frets, is decorated with position markers made of abalone and mother-of-pearl. Another subtle, elegant detail are the dark wooden inlays along the edge of the top (purfling) and around the sound hole. The Takamine GD93-NAT is equipped with a set of high-quality gold-plated tuners with black-coloured controls. The string nut as well as the bridge saddle are made of synthetic bone and the bridge saddle has been split for optimal intonation and clarity.

De Takamine GD93- NAT besteld omdat ik toch wel een western gitaar miste naast mijn klassieke en basgitaren.
Een B-stock besteld, gewikt en gewogen, wilde persé een western zonder cutaway en versterking.
Keurig bezorgd, netjes ingepakt, stemmen en spelen, miste alleen in de beschrijving dat er een tweewegs trussrod in zit, klein beetje minder relief gegeven, snaarhoogte op de 12e fret is zo uit de doos keurig.
Fretboard en brug wel even geolied maar dat is normaal, ze zagen er wat dorstig uit, inmiddels even lekker op zitten spelen en ik moet zeggen dat deze gitaar mooi gebalanceerd klinkt, geen buzz, geen scherpe fretjes, intonatie is spot on, hij staat geschikt voor plectrumspel maar ik speel eigenlijk altijd met mijn vingers, fingerpicking, travis picking en een enkele keer slag ook gewoon met mijn vingers.
Ik vind deze gitaar een aanrader, verschrikkelijk mooi afgewerkt met abalone en hout, daar waar ik bij veel duurdere gitaren vaak kunststof aantref, ook de achterkant met Rosewood en de Maple inzet zijn prachtig afgewerkt.

Un son riche bien équilibré avec des basses profondes. Manche très agréable à jouer.
Dommage que Takamine n'indique pas le type et la marque du jeu de cordes utilisé. Je crains que le changement quand celui-ci sera usé, soit galère au niveau du choix !
SVP si quelqu'un connait les cordes d'origine ? Je suis preneur. Bien à vous
