As both the heart and the brains of the unit, the SuperNATURAL engine of the RP701 is developed to calculate complex sonic models, which means you're not simply getting static samples and velocity groups here as you would with more standard pianos, but genuinely authentic, highly dynamic piano sound.

Since the PHA-4 keybed features escapement and ivory-like keys, the playing feel of the RP701 is just as realistic as its sound. Advanced players will be happy to learn that both the playing strength and temperament can be adjusted to taste and, next to piano, Roland have also loaded in hundreds of other sounds that can be freely combined, meaning you could stack piano sounds on top of strings if you wanted to! In addition, the recorder function and double headphone jacks can come in handy during lessons or when you simply want to keep your practising to yourself, and for those who like to do their own thing, Roland offer special Android and iOS apps, like the Roland App which monitors your progress and pushes you to keep improving.
