Pushing the concept of an affordable audio interface to its absolute limits, Audient don't merely offer up a 2-in/2-out brick loaded with a few high-end bells and whistles and slap an affordable price tag on it, instead they've dropped a professional-grade unit with a level of both quality and quantity that should probably come at twice the price. The Evo by Audient EVO 16 audio interface lines up eight analogue inputs, eight analogue outputs, two ADAT input, and two ADAT outputs - all for far less than a thousand quid.

The Evo by Audient EVO 16: The Features

If you're not familiar with ADAT, you're basically looking at another eight mono tracks per ADAT port, which in theory, amounts to no-less-than twenty-four inputs and twenty-four outputs. You will need to add an ADAT interface to your setup to use the function, but they're worth the investment, and they don't even have to be too pricey. On top of that, you get another two headphone outputs for monitoring, so no matter the scope of your ambitions, whether you're working in a home or professional studio, you're more-than covered.

Work Smart, Not Hard

Besides the ample connection ports, the EVO 16 features Smartgain, which automatically sets the gain of the microphone inputs - a definite perk for musicians and more entry-level sound engineers. When jacking in electric guitars and basses, the sound is immediately backed up by the two outstanding JFET preamps that come built in, and in true Audient-sytle, the quality of the converters in general is also outstanding. A wordclock generator also comes included, and so all of the functions and settings can be navigated in deluxe comfort, the front control panel has been finished with full-colour display screen. Evo by Audient EVO 16 Audio Interface

Top-interface! Kijk, zo moet het dus zijn: je maakt een nieuw product waar je geen gebruiksaanwijzing bij moet stoppen (ik ben géén studio-man maar gitarist die wil opnemen) en het klinkt allereerst WOW! BIG upgrade qua sound en ik had een UA Volt die toch meestal een storing gaf vroeger. Deze super qua instellingen, makkelijk lijnen stereo te zetten (auto panning), mixer + settings in de mac zijn zeer handig en natuurlijk de auto knop, moet ik nog testen maar als iemand die alleen werkt,... Tot nu toe? Beter kan niet.
