The Shure Beta 87A is a super-cardioid handheld microphone with vocal reproduction performance that professional audio companies, recording studios and radio and TV broadcasts swear by. Its combination of excellent sound quality and solid construction make this microphone ideal for use on the road and suitable for the most professional situations.
The 87A consists of a controlled low-frequency roll-off which compensates for the so-called 'proximity effect'. This can occur when singing directly into the microphone, causing a change in the frequency response of a microphone, therefore emphasising lower frequencies. The soft, dynamic frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz ensures an excellent speech and vocal reproduction, while ambient noise is kept to a minimum thanks to the super-cardioid pickup pattern. To counter vibrations and unwanted handling noise, Shure has equipped the 87A with advanced shock mount technology. In combination with a built-in pop filter, this microphone provides perfect audio reproduction of the original source without disruptive external influences!
