dB Technologies B-Hype 15 active full-range speaker
Ive only had the speakers for a short while now and so can comply comment on their performance currently. I ordered 2 of these, as there was a deal on for 2.
Pros:
- loud for the low power they use; theyre rated for 400W on db Technologies website, so will go with that spec.
- tops and mids are good, Bass is a bit weaker but is shown in the frequency response for these. Turned up loud enough and they fill a good sized room. For more than 50 people per speaker, a sub would probably be a good idea.
- aesthetically pleasing; these B-Hype are much more appeasing to the eye than the last set of speakers I had, so cannot complain there at all
Neutral:
- only one XLR input, so if like me you had one channel per XLR cable will need two speakers. But again that is shown on the speaker.
Cons:
- smallest fan noise when at idle. One of the speakers had a quiet fan which was nearly inaudible, where as the other speaker definitely had an audible fan noise, when no noise was coming from the speaker. No problem though once there is some sound coming from the speakers
Overall:
These speakers are really good quality for the price point theyre at. Not too heavy, at around 20KG, meaning one person can handle these with ease. Can definitely recommend these speakers. If you need these for a larger room, or more bass I would suggest adding 2 15 or at least one 18 sub, just to give a bigger kick and punch.
