General

The Electro-Voice RE20 is a go-to piece of equipment for almost every radio, TV and recording studio. One of the most renowned all-round models in the world, this trusty dynamic vocal and instrument microphone boasts a flat response across a huge frequency range and is exceptionally forgiving.

Highly Efficient

Equipped with a moving coil, the RE20 can be used to record virtually anything: vocals, electronic bass guitars, kick drums, guitar amps, snare drums, toms, wind instruments, you name it. When used to record vocals, the microphone shapes an in-your-face sound and guarantees satisfying results regardless of who's singing since there are no proximity effects. The RE20 features a built-in shock mount and pop filter and generally outperforms condenser microphones with a similar price tag. That said, a condenser microphone is probably still the best solution when it comes to recording things like cymbals and acoustic guitars.

Forgiving

The Electro-Voice RE20 is one of the most forgiving microphones in the world, which means there's no need to spend countless hours trying to position it perfectly. The cardioid capsule essentially ignores any sound coming from behind, and the pickup pattern is so consistent that the frequency response practically becomes independent of the angle the sound source is positioned at. As such, any captured audio is almost never coloured - even when the RE20 hasn't been aimed perfectly. In other words: simply deploy and record!
