The Stagg BJW-OPEN 6 is a unique instrument in many ways. For starters, instead of having five strings this banjo has six, which are tuned just like guitar strings (E-A-D-G-B-E). This makes it easy for any guitarist to pick up the banjo in no time at all without having to learn new chords. Furthermore, this banjo features an open back for a sound that isn't too bright, and for comfortable weight.
The biggest difference between this six-string banjo and a guitar is the sound. One of the most important factors in determining the recognizable pervasive, sparkling sound is the head, which is stretched over the body. In the case of the BJW-OPEN 6 the head is black, which matches beautifully with the matte finish of the rest of the banjo. Another attractive feature of this instrument is the nickel-plated brass armrest. All in all, this is a practical banjo with a characteristic sound and great looks!
