Boss LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer

Boss's LMB-3 gives you complete control over the dynamic range of your bass guitar by means of a limiter and enhancer circuit that was especially designed for electric bass. The limiter makes your bass sound tighter and fuller, while the enhancer increases the clarity and sparkle of the trebles.

Characteristics of the LMB-3

The LMB-3's volume level can easily be set using the Level knob, while Enhance, Ratio and Threshold knobs give you control over other parameters. Enhance determines the effect level - the more you turn it up, the sharper and clearer the sound. The Ratio knob adjusts the compression ratio of the limiter. In other words, it determines to what extent the limiter compresses the sound above the threshold level. At a 1:1 ratio, no compression is applied. At a 2:1 ratio, however, an incoming signal that is 6 dB higher than the threshold level, will be compressed by half. The Threshold knob, meanwhile, sets the level at which the compression kicks in.
