General

Primed for gigging life, the Ampeg Venture V3 amplifier head comes wrapped in a super-compact and lightweight housing and spits modern, powerful bass sound. Flexible and adaptable enough to back up virtually any contemporary genre, this amp head is home to a two way switch so the output can be flipped between the iconic sound of an Ampeg SVT or a B15 at will. If you're working with an active bass and could do with a little less heat, then the input signal can be dipped to -15 decibels and, around the back a balanced direct XLR output is provided complete with a ground-lift switch and pre/post switch.

The Ampeg Venture V3: Super Grit Overdrive & High-Precision Fine-Tuning

Three-band EQ controls have been neatly lined up along the front control panel for some high-precision fine-tuning and, via the Freq pot, you're free to emphasise or weaken the mid-range to customise your bass sound in detail. If you're in need of a little more depth, then flip the Ultra Lo switch into the plus position to beef up the low end; for a tighter treble response, flip the Ultra Hi switch into the plus position; and, if you need a little edge, then engage the Super Grit section, dial up the Grit Level pot and coat your sound in some growling yet transparent overdrive. Besides an external speaker cabinet output, this amplifier head also supplies a headphone output, a footswitch port, an effects loop to support your stompboxes and an AUX input for hooking up external audio gear.

I think for the money and considering the volume this puts out at a true 300w into a two by ten cab, this Ampeg range is excellent. I don't use the grit function as not to my taste but switching between the SVT and B15 setting you completely get the difference. Nothing is going to replace either of those tube head, but considering their weight and huge cost, this is an option for the gigging musician who wants that sound but not a broken back. Or wallet. Mine is paired with one of the Ampeg mini 2x10 and no problem keeping up with the rest of the band. Going with another cab hooked into the first, VERY loud. This item was a B stock but came as new from Bax. It did come with a Euro plug adaptor but contacted Bax and they sent a UK replacement straight away. 1st class.

Erg tevreden met deze aankoop, super lichte versterker erg prettig om thuis repetities te doen via koptelefoon en begeleiding via de aux input. Daarnaast blijft ie goed overeind tijdens repetitie met de band. Gebruik dan enkel een EV 12inch floor monitor op 8ohm en werkt geweldig. Tegelijkertijd een draagtas besteld om in mee te nemen, prima kwaliteit en erg handig voor kabeltjes etc. Verder was de versterker snel binnen en goed verpakt door Bax. Al met al erg tevreden met deze aankoop.

Wrote the following about Ampeg Venture V3 300W Bass Amplifier Head

Deze versterker aangeschaft als back up voor mijn Ampeg V-4b. Gezien het volume en gewicht van de V-4b. Thuis geoefend met een svt 210av (8ohm) dat ging prima. Bij de band repetitie heb ik over een svt 212av (4ohm) gerepeteerd de versterker had genoeg power om in de 8 mans formatie overeind te blijven, het geluid vindt ik goed had wel gain en volume op 12 uur en svt op 1 uur staan. Wat ik opvallend vindt is dat de als je de functie svt of b15 gebruikt je meer volume krijgt (beleefd) dan als je clean speelt. De versterker is enorm licht en compact. Voor de optredens blijf ik bij de V-4b maar voor de repetities is dit een blijvertje. Het minpuntje vindt ik de pootjes daarom kan hij niet op de 210av staan. (Het handvat zit dan in de weg)
Service van Bax is goed kwam exact zoals aangegeven tijd, website is volledig en er is veel keuze.
