500 Watts of output, fully adaptable sound and a stack of modern functions, the lightweight and slimline Gallien-Krueger Legacy 500 amp head has been developed for the touring bassist. The power of this head is enough to tackle any stage and venue, no matter the size, while the impedance options accommodate 8, 4, 2 and even 2.7 Ohm speaker cabinets, so your stack can be tuned to meet your specific requirements. Meanwhile, Bob Gallien’s 50 years of experience and depth of thought lies behind every last detail of the progressive design.

The Gallien-Krueger Legacy 500: Optimised Control

The control panel of this Gallien-Krueger top has been carefully thought out, handing bassists optimal control over their sound. The advanced four-band EQ section can be used to sculpt the output in detail before fine-tuning the result via the split low and high-mid frequencies. The pad switch can be activated to support active as well as passive bass guitars and, to add a more raw edge to the sound, simply open up the Drive pot before changing things up via the Boost, Bump, Contour and Presence switches. A handy mute switch has also been included so you can cut the sound mid-set when needed.

Extra Options, Extra Ease

The connection options on board the Legacy 500 cover everything that any modern bassist will need. Connect up your instrument via the standard jack input, hook your stage tuner up to the dedicated jack port and use the integrated effects loop to run through external pedals and expand your sonic range. With this amp head, you can even plug an audio device into the AUX input, connect up a set of headphones and rehearse in silence. For extra ease, the Gallien-Krueger Legacy 500 comes complete with a footswitch so the overdrive can be toggled on and off hands-free, and all of it comes wrapped up in an insanely light and compact unit.
