General

If you're playing a lot of smaller, more intimate gigs, then the pickings for bassists can get pretty slim. With the 20 Watt output of the Valeton Asphalt Series TAR-20B bass amplifier head, you gain outstanding, just sound at a more intimate volume. This Asphalt Series model also comes housed in a solid metal box with a low-profile and lightweight design that makes for the ideal gigging mate, so you can hook up a 4 Ohm or 8 Ohm cabinet that's able to handle a lower wattage, and you have a modest yet impacting stack on your hands.

The Valeton TAR-20B: Humble Power

Despite the more humble dimensions, weight and wattage, this amp head is still able to lay down a solid foundation for your bass sound. Start by matching the gain with the input level of your bass and dialling in your desired level of punch, then mould your sound to shape via the Low, Mid and High EQ pots, which hand you the power to boost or cut the frequencies by as much as 9 decibels. For a touch more atmosphere, simply open up the Chorus pot and, to integrate your external effect pedals, simply link them up via the built-in effects loop. Handy for home rehearsing as well as gigs, the Valeton Asphalt Series TAR-20B even features an AUX input and a headphone output complete with cab simulation.
