General
Designed together with bassist Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, The Winery Dogs), the DiMarzio DP296N Relentless Middle pickups have an unusual shape. For instance, the right angles normally seen on a P-style pickup are nowhere to be seen, and the pickups follow the contours of the fretboard and strings. In terms of output, the Relentless pickups deliver about 50% more than regular passive pickups, but without any hum or noise. The strength of these pickups lies mainly in the punch in the midrange, precision in the low end and a percussive high.
