General
This is the SPB-4 Steve Harris P-Bass Signature Pickup specifically for electric P-style bass guitars. This split-coil element was originally developed especially for the iconic Iron Maiden bass guitarist at Seymour Duncan's Custom Shop. The original single-coil bass element in his own bass guitar did not meet his expectations, so he asked them if they could help him with this. With this Seymour Duncan SPB-4, handmade in Santa Barbara, California, his amplified bass guitar sound gets more body, extra articulation and a boost in the low mids.
SPB-4 Steve Harris P-Bass Pickup: Wildest Dreams
Yet the attack is still prominent and the clarity remains intact as well. All this based on that popular hot alnico 5 magnet and with a special vintage hot winding with a 13 kOhm resistor for plenty of bite. Ideal for putting down a tough, solid bottom end and, of course, playing those gallops. Vacuum wax treatment ensures you won't encounter any unwanted side noises.
