CaSela cajons by Sela have been popular for decades. These days, the combination of vintage and modern is a common trend in drum kits, cymbals, and guitars. The percussion world has also incorporated that trend, as is clear with the CaSela Vintage series cajons by Sela; this Vintage Blue model in particular.
Sela SE 082 CaSela Pro Vintage Blue cajon with switch
Birch offers excellent sound properties, which is why all Sela's cajons are built with this sturdy wood type. The 082 CaSela cajon is 47 cm high and 30 cm wide, which is the standard for a full-size cajon. 11 layers of birch were glued together to form a 15mm-thick cabinet, and the result is an excellent resonance and a wide sound projection. Four rubber anti-slip feet ensure that contact with the floor is kept to a minimum for enhanced resonance.
A handy function of this cajon is the Sela Pro Snare On/Off mechanism, which allows you turn the snares mounted inside on or off. Switching between a modern Flamenco-style sound with snare and a traditional Peruvian sound without has never been easier. You can also add an extra snare for even more attack.
The front plate of this cajon is made of veneer and finished in Vintage Blue. The funky letters printed on it sum up everything this versatile instrument has to offer. Should you ever want a different front plate, however, it is easily replaceable.
