General
Percussive sound effects do 't particularly well in the sector where people try to unwind. That seems a bit contradictory, but many singing bowls and rainsticks prove otherwise. A variation on the rainstick is this Sela Ocean Drum. It looks a bit like a frame drum, but closed and filled with grains. You can play it just like a frame drum (i.e. hit it with your flat hand), but with subtle movements you can make the grains move from one side to the other. And that gives a nice soundscape of the sea and the surf. Give it a go!
