General

Aim-accurate audio, that's what the Sennheiser MKE 400 mkII gets you. This compact shotgun camera microphone can be simply secured to a DSLR camera and features a super-cardioid pickup pattern to guarantee perfect directionally-captured audio with barely any ambient noise. The fitted low-pass switch helps to keep the recording free from any low-end raucous when you're interviewing someone close to any high-traffic spots, while the volume control and headphone output come in handy whenever you want to directly monitor the audio you're recording. The MKE 400 mkII can be connected to the microphone input of your camera using the included mini-jack cable, and Sennheiser even throw in a TRRS to TRS mini-jack cable so you can link the mike up with a smart device or computer.

Wrote the following about Sennheiser MKE 400 mkII Camera Microphone

The microphone is very lightweight and attaches to my Sony Camera without protruding in the way of the viewfinder. It is a very powerful microphone and wind noise is greatly reduced. I am very pleased with it. With regards to bax music, I was kept fully informed concerning the purchase on line and it arrived two days before the estimated delivery date. Unfortunately I was very disappointed that the price was reduced within four days of my purchase, resulting in a loss to me of £15.00.

Wrote the following about Sennheiser MKE 400 mkII Camera Microphone

Twijfelde tussen de Rode Videomic NTG en deze. Na een aantal vergelijkingsvideo's gekeken te hebben voor de MKE400 gekozen. Tijdens het testen kwam ik erachter dat de microfoon erg veel ruis heeft (gemonitord vanuit de mic zelf en ook in de camera met audiolevel van de camera zo laag mogelijk). Via Google kwam ik op een video van Curtis Judd die hetzelfde ondervond, samen met wat mensen in de comments. Ik kwam nog wat meer tests tegen waaruit hetzelfde bleek: de NTG doet het beter. Dus die ga ik nu maar bestellen en de MKE400 gaat waarschijnlijk terug.
