Vandoren Traditional 2.5-Strength Bb Clarinet Reeds (Pack of 10)

The Vandoren Traditional reeds for Bb clarinet are used all over the world. Every clarinetist who uses these reeds are most likely familiar with their all-round qualities. They have a thin tip and a relatively thick heart, which allows you to create a full, clear tone in any register. Playing lightly or piano is no problem at both high and low tones. The reeds are flexible enough to use for legato and staccato passages as well. There are 10 reeds in the familiar blue box, each packed individually to maintain the correct level of humidity.

Vandoren reeds: strength 1 to 5

Vandoren reeds are made in various strengths, indicated by a number. They start at 1 and go up half a step to 5 as they become stronger. Strength 1 is therefore the thinnest reed, and the easiest to make a tone, although the shape and quality of the sound is sacrificed. Strength 5 is the thickest reed, but as such, doesn't vibrate as much, making it very difficult to produce a tone. Once you do, though, the sound is much fuller and warmer. The higher the reed strength, the more difficult it is to play, but the fuller the sound becomes. This set contains 2.5 reeds, which is medium strength.
