Vandoren Reeds

Vandoren reeds come in various strengths indicated by a number assigned between 1 and 5, in half steps. Level 1 strength reeds are the thinnest and weakest, and while they're are the easiest reeds to produce clear notes with, a compromise is made on overall sound quality. 5-strength reeds are the thickest and strongest, and as such, are much harder to produce notes with. When notes are produced with a level 5 reed, the sound is noticeably full and rich. To sum up: the higher the strength level of the reed, the harder it is to play, but the fuller and more mature the sound. These particular reeds have a strength of 3.5, which means they're fit for more advanced players.
