General
Marshall's DSL20CR is a 20-watt tube guitar amplifier combo from the popular DSL series. It has a classic gain and an ultra gain channel, built-in reverb and it's equipped with a Celestion Seventy 80 speaker. There are three ECC83 preamp tubes with another one in the power amp along with two EL34s. The tubes and the speaker combine to produce a great sound with well-defined bass, growling mids and bright trebles. There's a Tone Shift button on board too that gives you scooped mids.
DSL20CR: emulated out, channels and controls
You can connect this amplifier directly to a mixer or an audio interface and enjoy the same great sound thanks to the emulated out with cabinet simulation. The classic gain channel gives you the renowned Marshall tone, while the ultra gain channel gives you even more distortion and you can switch between them easily using the included footswitch. Each channel has its own volume and gain controls, and they share a 3-band EQ as well as resonance and presence knobs that respectively add more bite or depth to your tone. There's also built-in reverb so that you can add an extra dimension to your sound.

Geweldig koop!
Ik kan niet anders zeggen.
Met Deze Amp kun je vrij wel alles spelen!
Zit in een band waar veel metal/hardrock spelen,
daar is de Marshall perfect voor, echt geweldig!.
Deze amp kun je ook een mooie cleane tone geven,
daarvoor heb je de select Chanel pedaal! ,Die je er bij krijgt.
Ik kan niet anders zeggen.

Très bon petit ampli a lampe avec le son Marshall, pour jouer chez soi ou un petit groupe avec le commutateur de puissance, très polyvalent grâce aux nombreux réglages et mode ultra gain ,livré avec sa pédale très pratique pour passer de clean a saturé , j'adore!

La première belle surprise, c'est un très beau clean sur le canal "classic gain" auquel je ne m'attendais pas sur un ampli Marshall !
Un bon overdrive pour le blues sur ce canal, et vous voilà parti sur les traces de SRV ;-)
Gros son Marshall typique sur le canal "ultra gain", basses profondes, beaux mediums et aigus tranchants, j'adore !
Testé avec une strat classic '50s (pas vraiment une guitare prévue pour le gros rock, mais dont l'électronique est modifiée pour pouvoir combiner les 3 single coils en parallèle ou en série), il est possible par exemple de passer d'un son "Shadows" ultra clean (la reverb digitale est top) à "Still got the blues" de Gary Moore !
Un très bon ampli que je recommande sans réserve..

De toggle om tussen 10 en 20 watt te switchen is super handig om het volume van de versterker te beperken of juist te boosten wanneer het nodig is. Wat. geluid betreft klinkt de versterker lekker warm en stevig. Tone switch is handig en de presence en resonance knoppen geven het geluid net wat extra. De ingebouwde reverb is niet geweldig maar laat het geluid wel net wat voller klinken.

Heb op verschillende buizenbakken gespeeld maar deze is helemaal af .

Prima versterker, zeker voor thuis of voor kleine optredens/bandrepetities. 20 Watt kan nog behoorlijk hard namelijk. Volgens de beschrijving van Bax zit er geen power reduction op maar die is er wel, net als bij alle versterkers uit de dsl -serie. In dit geval naar 10 watt toe. De versterker heeft wat mij betreft maar 1 nadeel en dat is dan nog een kwestie van smaak: ik vind het verschil in gainniveau's van de beide kanalen wel erg groot maar dat kan dus ook juist ideaal zijn.'t Is maar net waar je van houdt. Kanaal 1 gaat van clean tot een lichte crunch. Het OD kanaal geeft meteen bakken distortion. (Vergeleken met de 4 gainvoicings van de dsl-40 zou ik zeggen dat deze versterker de lichtste en de zwaarste gainvoicing van die 4 heeft meegekregen.)
