Latin Percussion LP522T-RGM Richie Gajate-Garcia 11" Quinto

For years, the Latin Percussion brand has been synonymous with high-quality percussion instruments. That's why pro percussionists from all around the world choose to use their gear. One of those pro percussionists, Richi Gajate-Garcia, even contributed to the design of the 11" LP522T-RGM quinto. Gajate-Garcia is a world-famous percussionist who regularly performs with artists like Diana Ross and Phil Collins. With his extensive knowledge, he helped LP create a great-looking quinto with a beautifully rich sound.

Romanian Tilia Wood

The Richie Gajata-Garcia signature quinto has a body made of three plies of Romanian tilia wood, which is known for its excellent resonance, and gives the instrument a warm, rich sound. Latin Percussion fitted the inside of the LP522T-RGM with a layer of fibreglass. As such this drum is very lightweight and easy to transport, while still being durable enough to handle the gigging life of a percussionist like Richie Gajate-Garcia. Finally, the Gajate-Garcia quinto features high-quality natural rawhide drumheads.

Natural Look

In developing this quinto, Richie Gajate-Garcia paid special attention to its look. Its beautifully brown finish reminds him of his favourite beverage back in Puerto Rico, called Mavi. The quinto is finished with a dark matte lacquer that shows off the wood grain beautifully. Finally, the decorative bands around the shell give it the appearance of a wooden barrel. In short, it's a remarkable instrument, because of both its look and sound. It's ideal for percussionists who are looking for an instrument that gives them a little bit more.
