General
If you're looking for a raw, dark-sounding cymbal that you can use well for jazz, for example - then you'd better look a bit further. This is because the XIST cymbals primarily offer you a bright, open sound with lots of 'sparkle' and good focus. This 20-inch crash has been given a brilliant finish, which adds to the clarity and sound projection. At 20 inches in diameter, this crash is the second-largest crash in the series.
Istanbul Agop - XIST series
With the XIST series, Istanbul Agop has managed to produce professional-sounding cymbals at a friendly price. Traditional techniques are combined with modern methods. By 'modern', we mainly mean the special 'pin lathing' on both sides of the cymbals. This ensures that the cymbals sound clear. In addition, the hammering technique has also been modernised. It is a kind of hybrid hammering technique where hammering is not done by hand but by a machine. In the traditional way, a cymbal receives an average of about 4,500 hammer blows - the XIST cymbals need about 1,500 blows. The position and strength of the hammering is still entirely controlled by hand by the cymbal maker, giving each cymbal a unique sound. XIST cymbals are available in two finishes: traditional or brilliant.
