Paiste Masters Dark Crash 19"

Finally he's here; the long-awaited 19-inch Dark Crash from Paiste's popular Masters series. The cymbal has a warm, dark and deep sound that showcases the mix of complex earthy overtones and the clarity of the integrated cup, among others. The cymbal is suitable for a variety of musical styles and does especially well at smaller gigs and acoustic performances. This 19-inch Dark Crash also lends itself well to playing ride patterns.

Paiste Master Dark Crash

For the Masters Dark Crash, Paiste's team collaborated with none other than Gregory Hutchinson. Hutchinson probably needs little introduction among (jazz) drummers. He has played with the likes of Betty Carter, Ray Brown, Dianne Reeves, Wynton Marsalis, John Scofield, Roy Hargrove, Diana Krall, Joshua Redman and Harry Connick Jr; to name just a modest list. The cymbals that Hutchinson made with Paiste have a medium thickness. They are made of a so-called CuSn20 alloy. Like basically all Paiste cymbals, they are handmade and hammered at the factory in Switzerland. As a result, no two cymbals sound exactly the same.

In general, these cymbals have a warm, deep sound. The bell is integrated, meaning that when you play the cup, the cymbal top will contribute to the sound. A bright 'ping' accompanied by the 'washy' sound of the bronze alloy are the result. These cymbals are also great to play by hand and also very suitable for making crescendos with mallets.

• Please note that it is normal for the cymbal surface of a Paiste Master cymbal to have bumps. The unusual appearance is due to the very extensive manufacturing process of these handmade cymbals. This process guarantees the unique sound of the Master series.
