General

The largest of a total of three Thin Crashes from Paiste's PST X series; this is the 18-inch version. This crash has a warm, open sound and a medium volume range. Ideal for percussionists and drummers with an all-round orientation who want to add a versatile effects cymbal to their setup. Thanks to the holes, the cymbals in this series have medium sustain, with a nice overtone range that is not overpowering. The Thin Crashes are mainly intended for styles such as pop, soul, reggae, world music, hip-hop and Latin.

PST X Swiss Series

Paiste's PST X Series cymbals are made of B8 alloy, with the exception of the Pure Bells. The holes in the cymbals are not just randomly put in. The exact diameter and position of each hole was determined beforehand by the Paiste Sound Development team. The cymbals each have a different character, but in general we can say that the PST X cymbals have an airy, warm yet explosive sound.

Wrote the following about Paiste PST X Swiss Thin Crash 18 inches

Bonne qualité de son pour un prix abordable. On a bien du trash avec des harmoniques aiguës en plus d'une base médium plus en rapport avec le diamètre (18 pouces). Elle est plus puissante que je ne pensais. Je conseille d'essayer les petites sœurs de 16 et 14 pouces avant de choisir. La 18 pouces est une très bonne base pour un stack en empilant dessus une autre pstx de 12 ou 14 pouces, comme on peut le voir sur des vidéos d'Éric MOORE.
