You probably already know the Sabian AAX Freq cymbals from the Cymbal Vote, but unfortunately, that series had a rather concise offering. Until recently, because Sabian is innovating quite a bit. That's why they have the AAX Freq Crash 17-inch. This cymbal has the familiar blade with two different shear patterns and a raw-finished bell. As a result, the cymbal has some low end, but is mostly powerful and bright. It reacts hell directly and fills all frequencies nicely. The power makes this cymbal mainly suitable for hard pop and rock.
AAX Freq Crash 17-inch balanced cymbal
This cymbal has undergone a treatment that removes annoying overtones. However, this "Autofocus Response" treatment has another big advantage. It balances the many frequencies this cymbal has without losing its liveliness. This works at any force, so no matter if you tap quietly or hit the rim hard, the cymbal always sounds perfect.
