The 20-inch Sabian HHX Thin has definitely been shaped to make big statements. The hefty format has enough presence alone while the versatile sound leaves a lasting impact. The tonal character is a little darkened by the special Sabian-developed HHX hammer method where the cymbal is lightly shaped before it's shaved down and treated with a heavier hammer pattern. Since this results in a thinner than average cymbal, the response is super-fast while the raw finish and somewhat smaller bell also shape a just as fast attack with a growling edge and more than enough power.
