General

Drummers are often in search of the ideal bass drum sound that is powerful but without too much resonance. Pearl comes to the rescue with the BDM-M mini bass drum muffler. Simply place it against the drum head of your bass drum for immediate attenuation. Pearl is so satisfied with how the BDM-M works that they've included it in their Master Maple Complete and Decade series kits as standard issue. This muffler is also compatible with other series and brands, however. It's designed to fit the contour of any bass drum, which means it's universal.

Ik gebruik deze voor mij 22 inch Kick. Daarbij dempt dit kussen genoeg om het "rondzingen" tegen te gaan, maar om nog wel een fijne ronde sound te behouden. Ik houd persoonlijk niet van een doodgeslagen trom sound, dus dan is dit perfect.
Enige minpunt is dat bij vervoer van je drumkit de klittenband nog weleens los wil schieten. En aangezien ik geen porthole heb, moet je dan heel je vel demonteren.

Ik had een kussen en deken in mijn basserum liggen en nog vond ik het niet helemaal lekker. Merkbaar is ook dat de klank niet altijd het hetzelfde is.
De mini muffler is makkelijk te monteren. klittenbandstrip in de lengte van de bassdrum plakken en de muffler erop zetten. De muffler moet onder de klopper worden gepositioneerd en naar gelang je het lager zet, zal de demping ook minder worden.
Het is een inderdaad een klein dingetje en snel erop gezet en het klinkt voor mij precies goed. Geen kussen en deken meer. Misschien dat ik er nog eentje tegen het resonantievel aan zet voor meer controle op meerdere locaties.
Conclusie: Superblij!
