This magnificent Special 20 harmonica from the renowned Hohner has been the favourite for many professionals for over forty years, as well as for people just starting their musical career on the harmonica. This model was the first modern harmonica in the 1970s thanks to its innovative comb. Among other things, the Special 20 can offer you a warm, powerful sound with rich chords and is suitable for many styles of music, including blues, soul, folk and country.

The Special 20 C

This variant of the Special 20 has the key of C. Harmonicas with this pitch are often used to play along with music in the key of G. This Special 20 C is checked by hand several times during the production process for quality. Tuning is also partly done by hand, because according to Hohner experts, it is only possible to hear whether a harmonica is properly tuned by ear and this cannot be done by machine. This is why the tongues of the Special 20 are filed by hand if they do not yet sound as they should. This way, you are guaranteed a perfectly tuned harmonica of optimal quality.

The materials

Several materials are naturally used for this harmonica. These have been carefully selected by Hohner. For instance, the comb of this Special 20 is made of plastic, so that the mouthpiece glides smoothly past your lips. The tuning plates and reeds are made of copper and the covers are stainless steel. If you wish, the tuning plates can be replaced if necessary. In addition, this harmonica is extremely soundproof, allowing access only to the air you blow or suck through it. Storage and protection is easy in the supplied box.
