Yamaha have been developing acoustic pianos for over a century, and with the Clavinova CSP series, they have officially taken their experience and skill into the 21st century with the very latest in modern technology. This black CSP-170B digital piano has virtually no controls, as everything is operated by means of Smart Pianist, an app for your mobile device that's compatible with both iOS and Android. Use it to select any of the 692 sounds, including the CFX or Bösendorfer Imperial grand piano. You can also load in audio files and the Audio To Score function will turn them into notes and chords you can read! If you're not used to reading music, this piano will help you learn by means of LEDs above the keys that show you which ones to press down and when.

Plenty of options

In the app, you can choose between a variety of (grand)pianos as well as hundreds of other sounds and Super Articulation voices. These are high-quality samples that simulate certain characteristics of an instrument such as the fret noise of a guitar or the sound of inhalation with a wind instrument. Using the layer and split functionality, you can easily assign specific instruments to certain keys. With a polyphony of 256 voices, you've can combine sounds without risking any loss of quality. There are also 470 accompaniment styles available, so you can play along with a small combo or a complete symphony orchestra! You can even connect a microphone into the mic input and sing along or accompany a vocalist. Your performance is amplified by means of an internal 4-part speaker system that's bigger and more powerful than this piano's counterpart, the CSP-150.

Authentic playing experience

Yamaha have years of experience building acoustic pianos, which is clear by the look and feel of this piano's Natural Wood X keyboard. All 88 keys are made of a special dried wood, much like the keys of a grand piano, which makes them more resistant to distortion than laminated keys. The keyboard is equipped a Graded Hammer 3X keyboard and sensors that make the response feel as realistic as an acoustic piano so you can play with flair and expression. Finally, the keys have ivory and ebony surface coating for a remarkably realistic feel.
