Everything about this piano ensures an intensely pleasurable playing experience that is as close to an actual acoustic grand as you can possibly get. This piano features high-quality samples taken from Yamaha's very own CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial grand pianos, and offers an additional 47 other sounds as well as 480 XG voices. The GrandTouch keyboard has the same playing feel as a grand with the same slight differences per individual key that make it feel just like real thing. This CLP-685PE features a glossy Polished Black finish.

Virtual Resonance Modelling

To make the sound of this piano as convincing as possible, Yamaha applied the use of Virtual Resonance Modelling. This technology simulates string and attenuation resonance, as well as key-off samples and even the acoustics of the CFX grand's housing itself. With counterweights and escapement integrated in the keys and using the GP response pedal, you can play with the exact same expression and dynamics as you would on an acoustic model. The keys are also coated with synthetic ebony and ivory to recreate the authentic feel and to keep your fingers from sliding off.
