General
While most modern overdrive pedals are often based on "iconic circuits" of "legendary stompboxes", that doesn't fly for the all-fresh Fender Hammertone Overdrive. Doing their own thing based on new and unique circuits designed by Stan Cotey, Fender have managed to build a true bypass stompbox that offers a vast array of options. The Hammertone can be deployed to nudge an already overdriven amp over the edge or to inject a fair bit of character into your cleans, with the most striking control pot being the pre-gain mid boost which can be dialled in to hit the sweet spot for maximum mix-slicing potential.

Wrote the following about Fender Hammertone Overdrive Effect Pedal
Well made overdrive that has a distinctive sound.
Pedal has a lot of gain so is best for styles that use gain. It is quite dark sounding, so is great for taming single coils. I use it for.punky power chords and it is very good for this.
I don't think it's a pedal for warm blues.
It's hard to describe its voice-its quite distinctive(not a Tube screamer),but the pregain boost is useful.
Service was great from BAX
