General
When you want tube distortion, choosing a product with a real tube generally gives you a better sound. That's why Fender got together with Bruce Egnater to design the MTG Tube Distortion effects pedal that has a NOS 6205 preamp tube on board. The 6205 is loved by tube amp fans for its genuine New Old Stock sound. If you love that too, you're going to want to make room for this pedal on your pedalboard. Thanks to its LED backlit control knobs, the MTG Tube Distortion can be easily used on dark stages too.
MTG Tube Distortion
As the sleek look of the aluminium housing probably suggests, this Fender effects pedal has a little more to offer than standard old school tube distortion pedals. Rather than a single control knob, for instance, the MTG has a 3-band EQ so that you can tweak your tone to perfection. There's also a ‘tight’ potentiometer that allows you to tighten up the sound of your guitar as required. For those moments when you really need to cut through the mix, simply hit the boost footswitch. The boost level can be adjusted using the dedicated controls.
