The Flux-Five is a powerful new EQ version of the Mesa Boogie Flux-Drive overdrive. This pedal is fitted with the now classic Mesa 5-band graphic equaliser previously found adorning the ever popular Mark-V Series guitar amps. Besides this, you get a HI/LO footswitch with independent volume control for the solo-friendly HI gain mode that completes the tone-shaping capabilities of this extensive little stompbox.
The Mesa Boogie Flux-Five: Supple Tone
The Lo-Gain mode of the Flux-Five delivers that much sought after sound of the Flux-Drive: Thick, fat and smooth gain with heaps of expression and dynamics. The HI-Gain mode is the next level and has all the foundation sound of the Flux-Drive, is more soulful and has more potency. The miniaturised version of Mesa's 5-band graphic EQ gives you the power to add the legend that is the 'V-Curve' setting: a further generous layer of Flux-Five gain. The overall tone is dialed in using the original treble and bass controls and can be combined with the broad EQ to produce a considerable range of sounds.
Switchable HI and LO Gain Mode
The graphic equaliser can be applied at the same time as the HI and LO gain modes for a global EQ curve or separately so you switch between two 'presets' with different EQ and gain settings. The Five-Flux also gives you a Hi-Trim mini-pot to set the volume level of the HI-Gain mode to the same as the original LO-mode or Flux-Drive and used as a solo-boost.
