The Seymour Duncan 805 Overdrive is an extremely versatile and high-quality stomp box from the Seymour Duncan Factory in California. This new model was initially based on the famous 808, but it soon found its own way. The MC33178 chip gives this overdrive pedal better sound quality with less noise while it saves your battery. Besides a battery, you can also power it with an optionally available 9 to 18V DC adapter. The 3-band active EQ with bass, mid, and treble controls gives a large array of different sounds, varying from a smooth bluesy overdrive to crushing modern metal sounds.

805 Overdrive: classic yet modern

The 805 is essentially a classic overdrive. However, it stands out from the crowd with its tight bass, sparkling trebles, and perfectly defined individual notes. In comparison to many other overdrives, the 805 doesn't sound shrill at all, no matter the gain. This is thanks to the active 3-band EQ, that also gives powerful lows, while maintaining control of the mid and high tones. In short, the 805 Overdive is well designed and is ideal for pushing that already distorted tube amp even harder.
