The Allen & Heath Xone:K2 is an ultra-compact DJ MIDI controller and audio interface in one. This controller has a MIDI surface with no less than 52 controls, enabling you to control all your favourite DAW and DJ software. The Xone:K2 is compatible with, amongst others, Traktor Pro, Ableton, Virtual DJ, PCDJ and MixVibes, but can also be used to control lighting or VJ software. The two X:LINK ports allow you to simultaneously connect two K2 units to for instance the Xone:DB4 and the new Xone:DB2 DJ mixers.
Xone:K2: Elaborate MIDI Functions
The 52 controls on the K2 consist of twelve analogue and six endless rotary encoders with push switch, four linear faders and 30 backlit performance switches with 3-colour LED. Together, they provide you with 171 MIDI commands across three layers. The layout can be fully adjusted to your demands, but sample maps are included.
Integrated 4-Channel Audio Interface
The Xone:K2 features a built-in 44.1 kHz / 48 kHz sound card, which provides you with four channels via the USB port. These are divided into two stereo channels: two for your headphones and a Master Out left and right. A 1/8 inch stereo mini jack headphone connection has been strategically placed on the front.
This MIDI controller is supplied with a rugged, padded case, which doubles as a stand, enabling you to bring the Xone:K2 up to the same height as most professional DJ mixers.
Tips or comments about this product
- Take notice: the K2 is suited for various MIDI-controlled applications, but always needs to be powered via USB!
- Take notice: the X-Link communication via Ethernet connectors is a separate (powered) protocol and cannot be used for other purposes!
