The DDJ-FLX2 works with several DJ apps, including rekordbox and djay. Install your favourite app on your mobile device, connect to the controller and you're ready to get started. When you're ready for the next step and want to learn more advanced techniques, you can use DJ software on your PC or Mac, for example rekordbox and Serato DJ Lite. Each DJ app is compatible with other streaming services, so let your choice depend on your DJ style and the music you want to play. If you choose djay, for example, you will get access to Apple Music, with over 100 million tracks you can incorporate into your mixes

Smart CFX and Smart Fader

Thanks to Smart CFX and Smart Fader on the DDJ-FLX2, you can easily emulate the best mixing techniques of your favourite DJs! With Smart CFX, you can apply the complex and dynamic effect techniques used by the pros in no time. The Smart Fader automatically optimises volume, BPM and bass so you can create smooth transitions. All you have to do is slide the crossfader in one direction. With this feature, you can easily mix tracks in different genres, even if their tempos (BPM) differ greatly from each other.

Performance Pads

The DDJ/FLX2 also features Performance Pads. With Pad Mode Select you can easily switch between different functions, think of Hot Cue mode, which allows you to mark certain parts in a track, e.g. the intro or the chorus. With Pad FX, you can easily apply various effects with one touch on the pads, thus giving your own influence to the music. And with the sampler you can add sound effects or try out techniques such as finger drumming.

Unlike professional DJ consoles that are media players themselves, the DDJ-FLX2 is a typical DJ controller: in other words, you control software on your computer, for example Serato. So the DDJ-FLX2 doesn't create its own sound, but it does send the software's sound to its own outputs.

What is the difference between AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX2 and the Pioneer DDJ-FLX2?

Just the name. The Pioneer DJ company (which is therefore not the same as the Pioneer company for the car radios) has chosen to put the DJ branch under the new name AlphtaTheta now, also to avoid confusion with thus the car/hifi products. It makes no difference to the DJ gear, which remains as good as ever.
