The Kaoss Pad has been around for a while, the first one came out in 1999, which is now a human generation ago. That Korg is still releasing a new generation of the Kaoss Pad with the KAOSS Pad V says enough about the product's timeless popularity. The overall layout is similar to previous versions. And why not; if it works, it works. So this is an effect device where parameters are changed using the X/Y touchpad. This makes it a dynamic effect that you can use beautifully, especially live. Of course, you'll benefit from presets so you can use a different effect between your tracks. You get 270 of them; namely 170 from Korg and 100 from yourself. SD cards are also supported, with a max of 32 gigabytes. A really nice feature is the KPV Editor (Kaoss Pad V Editor). This is a browser app that allows you to programme this Kaoss Pad, making this Kaoss Pad V completely up to date again. Also very interesting: you can now use two fingers; dual-touch, which means you can also control two parameters at the same time. All in all, another very interesting new generation in this popular family!
