General

The L5W is functionally identical to the L5 (512 channels, for both pre-recorded and automatically generated shows), with one addition that really tidies up the stage: a built-in CRMX radio module for wireless DMX transmission. Instead of running a DMX cable from your control unit to each lighting group, you simply transmit the signal through the air to fixtures fitted with a compatible wireless receiver. Fewer cables mean fewer trip hazards, less set-up time, and a stage that looks tidier straight away.

M-Live LAKYX L5W: where wireless makes all the difference

At venues where cabling is difficult (a festival stage with scattered lighting points, a church hall with fixed fixtures at a distance, or simply a rushed load-in), that cable-free connection is the practical advantage that justifies the extra cost. A separate antenna connector ensures a stable range, and a dedicated LED lets you see at a glance whether the radio connection is active. For wireless fixtures without a LAKYX link, the wired DMX OUT remains available as normal, so you can combine wireless and wired setups as you wish within the same show.
