Early speculation about a Nord Electro 7 was already underway in 2025. Not surprisingly, of course; people can count, and based on other Nord releases, you can make an educated guess that at some point the Electro series will get another scion too. Long story short: here it is! Many bands have a keyboardist with a Nord keyboard, and since such a keyboard is invariably red, you can recognise that Nord even from a distance. In conclusion, Nord is among the most popular stage keyboards, you really see them everywhere. That reputation will also go to the Electro 7 61.

Clavia Nord Electro 7 - the highlights

New panel layout. Just about everyone does it by now, so then Nord won't be left behind: finally a nice colour screen! The overall panel layout has also had a polish. In the organ section, we now find the organ models from the Nord Organ 3. The synth section has been significantly renewed with virtual analogue waves, FM synthesis and new samples. Here you can also use an expression pedal to control the synth parameters. Effects are now also available per section, which is very desirable! Also, the effects have been extended with a spring reverb and new amp models.

Why a Clavia Nord Electro?

At its core, 'tis a comprehensive stage keyboard, as it is with other Nord keyboards (Nord Piano, Nord Stage). So that means you get all the sounds relevant to a keyboardist in a band: organs, pianos, e-pianos and some synths. You'll also get some non-keyboard sounds with the extensive range of samples. But guitars and the like are, of course, hijacked by a real guitarist. So the main bulk of an Electro is really about the keyboard sounds. Those sounds, unsurprisingly, are top-notch. The big red reputation really didn't just come to Nord. Like previous editions, and like the toppers of other brands, there are a lot of controls, spread over several sections. This is also what you want as a keyboardist: hands-on operation, no fussing with menus, instant results. Not that there is nothing to be found in menus, you can do plenty of editing, but the quick and relevant changes you do directly with your fingertips. The keyboard itself is of the waterfall type, so you can make swipes with your hand without any problems, which is simply less pleasant with angular piano keys.
