The Arturia SparkLE does not have its own sound engine, but controls the Spark Engine software on your PC or laptop, which offers a choice of three different engines. TAE (True Analog Emulation) synthesis produces those typical analogue drum sounds that dominated the 1980s. For more complex jobs there's a physical modelling engine, which basically synthesizes the physical properties of natural objects, allowing you to work with recognisable, almost tangible parameters instead of synthetic ones. Finally, the SparkLE also features a sample player for all your other sound-related needs. Are you not that much into parameter tweaking? No need to worry - the Arturia drum machine has a huge, varied collection of wonderful, out-of-the-box sounds to choose from.
