The set consists of a DAP Audio DM-20 microphone, that is specifically designed for the amplification of the extremely low frequencies: perfect for bass drum use! Furthermore, the DK-5 also contains two DM-20s that, because of their clear sound and cardioid pickup pattern, can be used for the tom and snare. This top team is reinforced by two CM-10 microphones - these condenser microphones are best suited for recording hi-hats, cymbals or overhead uses, because of their wide frequency range and high sensitivity. This complete set will help you perfectly amplify or record your drum kit!

Maar voor je er zelf een koopt moet je wel goed nadenken over hoe je het gaat gebruiken. Zo'n prijs voor een drumkit is namelijk niet duur en hoewel het een prima setje is, zal ik hem niet voor alle situaties aanraden.
Voor demo/repetitie-opnames is dit setje prima. Ik gebruik dit setje zelf voor de drums van bandjes die bij ons live in de studio komen spelen. 2x overhead, 1x snare en 1x bassdrum. Dat levert prima demo-opnames op, maar ook niet meer dan dat. Opbouwen en inregelen moet namelijk snel gebeuren en de tijd om in te regelen is over het algemeen te kort om echt het verschil te laten horen tussen een setje van bijvoorbeeld AKG van een paar honderd euro meer en deze (die tijd gebruik namelijk meer voor gitaren en zang).
De set zelf zit in een mooi koffertje en de microfoons kunnen zo op een statief geschroeft worden, al gebruik ik voor de mic op de snare een adapter van Sennheiser waarmee ik ze direct op de rand van de snare bevestig.

Min punten:
-statiefbevestiging voelt goedkoop
-voor veel gebruiksdoeleinden is een duurder setje vaak een betere keuze.
Goed om nog rekening mee te houden:
-je bent meer kwijt aan kabels en statieven
-de overheads hebben fantoomvoeding nodig
Voor serieus opnamewerk - waar de kwaliteit van de microfoons veel meer uitmaakt - zou ik dit setje afraden en doorsparen voor een duurder en beter setje.
