The D'Addario EXL170-8 Light 45-100 set holds fresh strings for an 8-string bass, which is tuned the same way as a standard 4-string bass but has string courses where every second string is tuned one octave higher, resulting in broad-and-rich sound, masses of sustain and a powerful output. These carbon-steel strings come nickel-wound, have a supple feel and are fit for all styles.
