D'Addario XSB45130MS Hybrid Light, Multiscale Coated Bass Strings 45–130 electric bass guitar string set

General

With the D’Addario XSB45130MS XS Nickel Hybrid Light, you can give your 5-string multiscale bass guitar a powerful, balanced tone. This complete set comprises five strings with gauges ranging from .045 to .130 inches and combines a nickel-plated steel winding with an ultra-thin XS coating. This delivers a smooth playing feel and a long lifespan, without compromising on clarity or responsiveness. The Hybrid Light version offers versatile, balanced string tension and is suitable for all musical genres. From a solid bass line to a subtly played passage: this set is designed for bassists who value durability and a familiar playing feel.

Revamped winding, familiar feel

With this string set for 5-string multiscale bass guitars, the innovation lies beneath the coating too. D’Addario uses a reformulated nickel-plated steel winding wire and has adjusted the ratio between the core and the winding. This creates a versatile string that feels familiar and brings out the overtones even more. The roundwound construction is combined with the ultra-thin XS coating, which ensures a smooth feel whilst playing. The NY High Carbon Steel core also offers greater tensile strength and better tuning stability than standard bass strings. This combines tone, playing comfort and reliability in a set that isn’t limited to any one musical style.

Made in New York, conveniently packaged

D’Addario manufactures the XSB45130MS at its own factory in New York, where the strings are produced to precise specifications. You’ll receive one complete Hybrid Light set comprising five strings for a 5-string multiscale bass guitar – so no individual replacement strings. The packaging is also practical: the strings come in a recyclable, resealable VCI bag. On the bag, you’ll find a code that you can register to earn Players Circle points. This means the set not only focuses on tone and longevity, but also features well-thought-out packaging. A suitable choice if you want to fit your multiscale bass with coated strings that offer balanced tension and a smooth playing feel.
