The Blackstar Carry-on ST Bass is more than compact and lightweight enough to take on trips yet shapes a traditionally punchy and fully grown sound, courtesy of a poplar body armed with a passive split-coil pickup. In addition, Blackstar have outfitted this travel-ready bass guitar with a two-piece nato neck that comes furnished with an 18-fret laurel fretboard and an abridged 23.46-inch scale length, guaranteeing ample playability for budding beginners and small-handed adults alike.

Super fijne bas, de actie van mijn exemplaar is echt super en de korte mensuur is heel fijn, zeker als je het liefst op kleine instrumenten speelt zoals ik. De mensuur is beduidend langer/groter dan die van ukulele bassen (die ik ook heb), maar het instrument is net zo lang als mijn akoestische ukulele bas. De stalen snaren zorgen ervoor dat dit instrument als een gewone elektrische bas klinkt en speelt. Ook heel goed inzetbaar als een eerste bas voor een kind, en makkelijker mee te nemen op vakantie dan een full size bas. Er zit geen tas bij, en in een normale bastas gaat dit instrument zoek raken. Hij past prima (nog ruim) in een elektrische gitaar tas. Een andere mensuur bespelen is altijd even wennen, maar normaal gesproken ben je met een paar minuten wel weer op weg.
