General

The Schecter Charles Berthoud CB-5 is the signature model of the renowned bassist and tapping specialist Charles Berthoud. This 5-string electric bass has been designed with maximum playability, sustain and versatile tone-shaping in mind. The body is made of ash with a flamed maple top, finished in See Thru Black Satin. The neck is constructed from walnut and padauk and extends all the way through the body. Thanks to the Ultra Access construction, even the higher frets are easily accessible. With 24 jumbo frets and a 35-inch scale length, the CB-5 offers a solid foundation for both traditional bass playing and advanced tapping techniques.

Active electronics and versatile tone

For sound pickup, the CB-5 features two EMG 40HZ humbuckers, positioned at the bridge and neck. The combination of these pickups with the active EMG 3-band B64 EQ gives you a great deal of control over the final sound. The master volume and blend controls also allow you to precisely adjust the balance between the two pickups. This makes the bass suitable for a wide range of playing styles and situations, from tight and defined low-end to a more pronounced and dynamic sound. The Schecter Diamond Custom Bass bridge and Grover Bass 144 Series tuners provide a reliable foundation.

Designed for expressive bass playing

The CB-5 has clearly been developed with Charles Berthoud’s playing style in mind. The Thin C neck and 45 mm-wide nut provide a comfortable foundation for fast and precise playing, whilst the 16-inch fingerboard radius makes the neck well-suited to modern playing techniques. The through-body neck construction contributes to even sustain and smooth resonance. The bass comes fitted with D’Addario Bass Nickel Wound Long Scale NYXL45130 strings in a .045–.130 set. A matching SCSGR-6B case is available separately and is therefore not included.

Bax Music Warranty This product comes with a 3-year warranty.
