Thanks to its body shape, you can easily handle this electric bass in all situations and play all the way to the 24th medium fret without any problems. In addition to the neck featuring a fingerboard made of fancy ebony, the body is made of swamp ash that stands out particularly beautifully thanks to its transparent finish. This 5-string version has a slightly longer 35-inch scale, keeping the low B string sounding tight.

Marcus Miller M5 Swamp Ash: the modern base solidly reinforced for various genres

This ash also determines the main bulk of the basic sound of this Sire bass. It is slightly darker in character with a soft midrange and tight basses as well as trebles. To bring out this firmly amplified sound, this electric bass guitar features 2 Marcus Pure Humbucker Advanced pickups. The Marcus Heritage-3 Preamp lets you go in different musical directions. For more modern genres, switch this M5 active and for more organic musical styles, just keep it passive. Whereas in the latter position you can shape your sound with a tone potentiometer, in the former setting you have a 3-band equalisation with far-reaching control over the midrange. A solid Marcus Miller Heavy Mass Custom bridge is also present.

Wrote the following about Sire Marcus Miller M5-5 Swamp Ash Natural 5-String Electric Bass Guitar

Speelt lekker en heeft zeer veel klankmogelijkheden. Een detail waar ik erg blij mee ben is dat je de toonregelaar ook in de active modus kunt gebruiken, naast de EQ. Ik moet daarbij wel zeggen dat die toonregelaar van mij wat uitgesprokener had gemogen. Maar als hij aanwezig is dat voor mij een pluspunt.

De hals ligt erg lekker in mijn hand, hij heeft de precies de juiste vorm en dikte voor mij. Alle onderdelen lijken van goede kwaliteit en de frets zijn heel netjes afgewerkt. De bas kwam ook perfect afgesteld uit de doos, ik hoefde er niks aan te doen.

Een aanrader dus.
