General

The Sire Marcus Miller M7 2nd Gen Swamp Ash is a 5-string bass guitar with all the necessary features to meet the demands of the modern, versatile bassist. Not only does it have five strings, but with a whopping 24 frets, the range is unprecedented. An extensive tone control makes for a versatile instrument. The ebony fingerboard has edges that are carefully rounded, making for very comfortable playing. Thanks to its extended 35-inch scale, it boasts plenty of sustain and a good tone, even on the fifth string. It is available in a natural and a transparent black finish.

Parts

The body is made of a lightweight variant of ash wood, a highly sought-after type of wood because of its excellent resonance. It also features a top made of maple with a special pattern. Combined with the black hardware, this gives the M7 2nd Gen an impressive look. In terms of sound too, this 5-string bass guitar from Sire leaves nothing to be desired. Two Marcus Pure-H revolution humbuckers form the basis of the sound and give a full, warm tone. Thanks to two small switches, it is possible to switch them in parallel, series or split-coil. Using the Marcus Heritage-3 active EQ and preamp, that sound can then be adjusted completely to your liking.
