The Sire Marcus Miller V7 SR5 Transparent Black Satin is a high-quality 5-string electric bass guitar that combines the classic look of a vintage jazz bass with modern playability and tonal capabilities. This reissue brings back a much-loved model, following the temporary suspension of production due to the limited availability of swamp ash. The swamp ash body, featuring a beautiful poplar burl veneer in Transparent Black Satin, delivers a resonant, open tone with great definition and an exclusive look. This makes the bass suitable for both studio recordings and live performances across a wide range of musical styles.

Versatile active electronics

Under the bonnet, the V7 SR5 features the Marcus Super-J Revolution pickup set with classic 1960s pickup spacing and high-quality USA plain enamel winding wire. Together with the Marcus Heritage-3 preamp with mid-frequency control, this offers an exceptionally wide tonal spectrum. You can easily switch between active and passive modes and have controls for volume, tone, blend, treble, mid-range and bass. This allows you to effortlessly tailor the sound to any playing style, from warm vintage tones to modern, tight bass sounds with great definition.

Comfortably built for intensive use

The hard maple neck with a comfortable C-profile sits comfortably in the hand and features a maple fingerboard with rounded edge profiles for extra playing comfort. Thanks to the 34-inch scale length, 20 medium frets and a 46 mm-wide bone nut, the fifth string feels stable and familiar. The new Marcus Heavy Mass II bridge contributes to excellent sustain and precise intonation, whilst premium open-gear tuning machines and chrome-plated hardware ensure reliable tuning. This makes the V7 SR5 an excellent choice for discerning bassists.
