General

Pure nickel, round-wound and with a round core, this set of strings for electric guitar is carefully handcrafted in the USA, which means the quality is much higher than machine-made strings. The PHR-9 Lite strings are especially designed for blues guitarists because they deliver better sustain, an authentic sound and an especially deep low end for lead as well as rhythm.

Round core

While some strings have a hexagonal core, meaning there are hollow spaces in the windings, these strings have a round core, which leaves no room for dirt or moisture. This also makes them longer-lasting and gives them a clearer sound. Wrote the following about DR Strings PHR-9 'Pure Blues' Lite strings for electric guitar

I purchased a pure nickel set of strings from DR. Unfortunately, the end part of the .09 string was bent (almost broken). As a result, the string couldn't reach the post hole of the tuning peg. Since I needed the string for a performance, I improvised a solution by fixing the string to another tuning post. Despite this issue, the overall quality of the strings is good. This problem was quite annoying, but the Bax Music website is very user-friendly with a wide range of options, making it easy to find what you need. I will definitely be purchasing from Bax again.
