General

Duesenberg has built this 59er electric guitar in a classic American style. It looks quite similar to a well-known American model and has a chambered mahogany body that makes it lighter and improves its resonance. There are two Duesenberg Grand Vintage humbuckers on board that deliver a PAF-like sound. While this is undoubtedly a rock guitar, when the pickup switch is in the mid position some of the lower frequencies are filtered out leaving crystal-clear trebles which makes this model suitable for other styles of music too. The 59er comes with its own stylish Duesenberg case.

Duesenberg 59er Tobacco Burst with stop tailpiece

The neck is made from a single piece of mahogany and has a hand-finished fretboard made of Indian rosewood that feels smooth to the touch. The fretboard is adorned with diamond-shaped pearloid markers. This Duesenberg 59er Tobacco Burst is the only one in the series that has a stop tailpiece. The black 59er has a vibrato tailpiece instead. There are just two knobs: one for tone and one for volume which combined with the 3-way pickup switch give you plenty to work with.

Fans around the world

Deusenberg borrowed its name from the famous 1920s German automobile company that was known for elegance, luxury and mechanical precision. Duesenberg guitars adopted these qualities too when they began making guitars in 1986 and since then have paid enormous attention to emulating the details of the art-deco style in their guitars. All of the hardware on these instruments is developed in-house, resulting in truly eye-catching guitars with a unique sound favoured by many famous guitarists around the world, including Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey, Ron Wood, Bob Dylan, Billy Gibbons, Jon Bon Jovi and Elvis Costello, to name but a few!
